Joy from Samford

I met up with one of my closest college friends last weekend in Jackson.
Joy is one of the sweetest people I know.  I actually thought if we had a girl, we may name her Joy because of this Joy.  Oh my goodness, she's just the greatest.  She has three girls ]{Ella, CeCe, and Eden} and she and her husband, David, live in Nashville.
It was so wonderful to spend the day with Joy.

So many pieces of scripture come to mind when I think of my friendships.

"Oil and perfume rejoice the heart; so does the sweetness of a friend's counsel that comes from the heart." Proverbs 27: 9

"As iron sharpens iron, so a man sharpens the countenance of his friend." Proverbs 27: 17(NKJV)

I am truely thankful for my friendships. As God has convicted and changed me, I feel those changes have been evident in my relationships.  I've never been surrounded my such wonderfully authentic friendships as I am now and that hasn't been without leaving some folks behind.  Sometimes we just need a little cleaning up in our friendships.
This verse comes to mind....

Do not be deceived: “Evil company corrupts good habits.” 1 Corinthians 15: 33(NKJV)

Is there anyone you need to let go of this Spring? Anyone corrupting your good habits?

  1. Hi Kasey! I am Leslie's aunt and I was just reading your post about Joy Pine! I was blessed to work with her for a while in a doctors office in Nashville and I believe she is one of the sweetest people on earth! Just shows what a small world it is! Hope to see you in Dyersburg the next time we come! Kim Pigue
