Advice From A Pro

The one in the photo above, in the shades.
This will be a lesson on casting your lure {hope I'm getting this terminology right}.
  You'll need a cup.
 Thomas, are you paying attention?
Stand a good distance away from your aim, in this case the afore mentioned cup.
And practice casting your lure perfectly in your cup.
Just like that.
Ok, your turn.
What, you forgot your shoes?
Alright, you don't have to get up and get away from your cup.
Get your rod feeling good.
Practice makes perfect.
Good job today. Let's put our rods up.

Time for a little Q and A with our pro.

Let's Go Pishing

Pishing. That's what Thomas calls it.
It was just beautiful weather, so Dad -AKA Poppy- took us out on the boat.
It is my Dad's favorite thing to do. PERIOD. EVER.
Maybe because he's so good at it.  But I can definitely see the lure {no pun intended}.
Dad and I talked about family, politics, business; life.   Not to mention the weather and sights were gorgeous.
We weren't on the lake for 5 minutes when we{dad} hooked one.

Dad told me lots and lots of times to watch Thomas with that reel.  I snapped this picture just before.....
well, I spare all the details, but it ended like this.  Sorry Dad.
But Thomas could not have had more fun.
Dad's boat will fly. FLY. We were going about 45 on the water and could have gone faster.  But Dad was playing it safer with our littliest rider.
It was a perfect day.  Lots more to share, check back soon.

More from Home

On Monday morning, Thomas played out in the yard.
and I chased him around with my camera, practicing my new skills.  Don't ya like my pajama pants?
After bathtime, his hair looked like this.
I know that we need a haircut, I'm just having a tough time going through with it.
We did a little shopping, had a little lunch, then went to feed the ducks.
At first Thomas came on a little strong.

One Day At A Time

I have so many pictures to post from my trip home, I'm just gonna take it one day at a time.   Thomas and I left on Saturday morning. We pulled out about the time Brian was beginning a weekend full of golf.  I love being excited about Brian getting to do one of his favorite things.  I know if I were around the house I'd be wanting his help.  I'm praying that as we enter into golf season, that I find endurance and extended joy during the long days.  That's a whole other conversation, One that I'll leave for another day..... on to the trip.

We got into my neck of the woods around 3.
Before going to mom and dad's we stopped by Pine Flat Church. My mom's parents are buried here.  We got out and I told Thomas about his grandparents.  He'll never remember it, but I'll never forget it.
When we got to Mom and Dad's the sliding began.  Thomas loved my nieces old swingset.
But then Thomas fell down.
And we decided it was bathtime.
On Sunday I attended a photography workshop hosted by the fabulous Kim Box.
It was intense.  My brain felt a tad overloaded.
Josh Moates did a ton of educating.  He knows his stuff for sure.
I learned so much, I even took this picture below that {to my unprofessional eye} looks like it could be in my favorite catalog.
I've got a ton to learn, but I'm enjoying learning.
When I walked into Mom and Dad's I found a little boy that I had missed to pieces.
My Aunt Priscilla was also there for a visit.
Got a bunch left to share, check back later.
