Highlight Reel-1

We are getting back into the swing of things after spending some time last week with my parents at Sandestin.  I'm so thankful for my parents.  The stories I could tell you about how they put us first would tie you up for hours.  Thanks Mom and Dad!
Here are some highlights of the week from one of two cameras.....

How To Give To St. Jude

I am running the St. Jude half marathon this Saturday. I am running because I am healthy;  My baby boy is healthy and because my husband is healthy.  I am running to raise money for St. Jude.

The link takes you directly to St. Jude.  You will recieve a receipt directly from St. Jude for your tax purposes.
If you have already given, please know how thankful I am to have your support.  I pray for you and your family EVERY time I run. I pray that your family will be blessed 10 times over.

Happy Thanksgiving

We had Thanksgiving dinner at the resort.
The children's buffet table was set up like a toy store... so cute. I felt strange walking around snapping pictures of food, so I quit after the kids table.
After lunch we hit the beach. The weather was perfect, 78 and sunny.
We were not expecting it to be so warm; we did not plan on spending a whole lot of time on the beach. After a quick trip to Dollar General (no joke), this mommy had a new swimsuit.
Shortly after this picture above was taken, this little fella below wrapping around my ankle.  Only stung for a minute, but after that we stayed on the sand.

Thankful

We have never been so thankful.
Let's keep it real, want to? Moments before these pictures were taken we had a MAJOR catastrophe that involved a jar of Vicks Vapor Rub, MAJOR.  A super duper scrub down in the bath tub (still wasn't able to get it all out of hair) didn't dampen our holiday cheer.
We have a runny nose today.  I know, it's really gross.... but its how we're rollin' these days.

Running Late...

...and what must we stop and do?
Picture taking is high priority around here.
Ok, now let's talk about that measuring tape that Thomas is holding.  He loves it; it could occupy his time for several minutes.  I have serious visions of tetanus, but let's be honest;  I tend to overreact and you've gotta pick your battles.
One this day, the measuring tape was not my battle.

The Devil Loves It When.....

Let's play a game.... come on, it'll be fun.  Our little group of friends used to have a game night. It was so fun; I guess I'm missing it.

Let's call this game "The Devil Loves It When.."
I'll start....

1) The devil loves it when I "complain".  I mean seriously, what good has ever been done by belly achin' and when will this sink in my brain?
2) The devil loves it when I "want".  Hello.... God wants us to be content.  It's hard to stay focused on what's important to God if I am focused on what's important to me.
3) The devil loves it when I "am a snob".  You read my post about Leslie, right?
 4) The devil loves it when I "want to sleep in on Sunday mornings".  Jesus created us to comfort, encourage, be present in the lives of those around us.  We need to be surrounded by believers.
5) The devil loves it when I "have a quick tongue".  Oh gosh y'all I am the worst at this.  I have damaged some of those closest to me because of my quick tongue.  In turn damaging them, I damaged myself. I pray that my fast tongue is long gone.
6) The devil loves it when I "doubt myself".  "What if", "Can I", "Do they", "Did I".... quit doubting Kasey and just act on what God has truly laid on your heart.
7) The devil loves it when I "worry".  NOTHING in this world gets accomplished by worrying but yet it can monopolize our valuable time.

Come on, no body likes a party pooper... so join me.  I KNOW WHO YOU ARE.
To help out some of my more silent readers... I'm going to make leaving a comment open to everyone.

Yee Haw

We went to one of the funnest parties last weekend.
It was the 4th birthday celebration of my friend Leslie's middle son, Cannon.  Leslie loves a party, she loves all things festive and is all about the details.  She makes it so much fun for their guests.
It was a cowboy theme and we felt the need to dress like, well, a cowboy.  This outfit was handed down from Deana and it.was.adorable....even if he is my child; it was super cute.
There were real horses
and Thomas's favorite, horses on sticks.
Cowboy hats,
pinatas (here is the birthday boy taking a good shot),
and lots of friends.
The picture above is of Leslie's mother, Coco and me.  Coco is a JOY; warm, welcoming, probably never really met a stranger.  I just love her to pieces.
Happy Birthday Cannon!
I feel the need, Thomas is napping, to tell y'all a little bit more about Leslie.
She moved to our small town last summer, just over a year ago.  We were introduced late winter, so not quite a year ago.  She is a full time (I could use the phrase "Stay At Home Mom"- but honestly, show me a mom these days who stays at home, outside job or not) workaholic mom to three growing and very busy boys.
Leslie is happy.  She is filled with God's love and compassion for others. She sees the positive in every situation I have faced with her.  And because of her nature, I am drawn to her like a moth to a flame.
It is my conviction that God wants us to have a heart full of love and compassion, warm and friendly.  God wants us to get out and tell people about Him; to show His love to others.  We will reach the lost by loving people like Leslie does.  She's a great example for me, as a believer, a mom, a wife, a friend.
I added in there that she is an example as a friend because this sister is honest.  Sometimes tells me things I don't want to hear, but those things I need to hear.  She is a blessing.  That's what friends are for right?
Before a Michael W Smith song comes on, I'm gonna scoot.
Hope you all are surrounded by celebrations and good friends.
