We went to one of the funnest parties last weekend.
It was the 4th birthday celebration of my friend Leslie's middle son, Cannon. Leslie loves a party, she loves all things festive and is all about the details. She makes it so much fun for their guests.
It was a cowboy theme and we felt the need to dress like, well, a cowboy. This outfit was handed down from Deana and it.was.adorable....even if he is my child; it was super cute.
There were real horses
and Thomas's favorite, horses on sticks.

and lots of friends.
The picture above is of Leslie's mother, Coco and me. Coco is a JOY; warm, welcoming, probably never really met a stranger. I just love her to pieces.

I feel the need, Thomas is napping, to tell y'all a little bit more about Leslie. 
She moved to our small town last summer, just over a year ago. We were introduced late winter, so not quite a year ago. She is a full time (I could use the phrase "Stay At Home Mom"- but honestly, show me a mom these days who stays at home, outside job or not) workaholic mom to three growing and very busy boys.
Leslie is happy. She is filled with God's love and compassion for others. She sees the positive in every situation I have faced with her. And because of her nature, I am drawn to her like a moth to a flame.
It is my conviction that God wants us to have a heart full of love and compassion, warm and friendly. God wants us to get out and tell people about Him; to show His love to others. We will reach the lost by loving people like Leslie does. She's a great example for me, as a believer, a mom, a wife, a friend.
I added in there that she is an example as a friend because this sister is honest. Sometimes tells me things I don't want to hear, but those things I need to hear. She is a blessing. That's what friends are for right?

Sister...tears are streaming!!! You are so precious & so dear to me & our friendship far surpasses the 9 months you mentioned. I am the blessed one to have you in my life & I am so grateful that you, B & Thomas love us all like you do!! (You neglected to mention this is how your hubby got to celebrate his birthday! ;)) thanks for sharing...I gotta get some of these sweet pics you captured. I love you, sister!
