...that I gave up Facebook? I gave it up for Lent. Looking back I think how silly of me to give up something so petty to be reminded of how much I need God. But at the time, I looked at it lots. LOTS. At least everyday. Thinking of stuff I have no business thinking and learning stuff I should not have knowledge of. Can I just tell you that I really like not being on it? My mind is clear and I'm not bombarded with people {and their thoughts} who shouldn't be in my {OUR life; I say "our" because my life is really the life of my husband and my child} life.
Brian changed my password for me, but he will get on it for me once every other week to make sure I haven't missed a birth, a death, or an important message.
Heather, Brian said you mentioned something about Covington. Yes! Covington is about 30 minutes from here. Will you be coming up my way? I'd LOVE that.
Let me leave y'all with something...This Youtube video. I am usually the last to hear about these things, but if you haven't seen Antoine Dodson's reaction to his sister's near-rape experience, you should do yourself the favor of watching it {Not that rape is not extremely serious, and I wouldn't be thankful for a brother so willing to...defend me. It's just the way he goes about it...oh my}: Just click on the link below.
ANTIONE DODSON
And then, really reward yourself with a good laugh by watching this remix.
REMIX
So hide yo' kids, hide yo' wife, and hide yo' husbands, causetheyrapin'ereybody out here.
Oh, someone come and get me off the floor I'm laughing so hard.

So THAT explains why I haven't heard from you! :) Glad to know you are still alive.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, I am not coming up that way :( I wish I was. I was asking because I've been following this blog of a little girl, Lucy Krull (age 4 or 5) who was just diagnosed with cancer. My heart is so broken for this family. The mom is trying to take care of her sick little girl at the hospital as she goes through radiation and later chemo, plus she has 2 other children at home (around age 8 and a little boy under a year old). My heart has been so burdened for her because I couldn't imagine what she is going through being torn between all of that. You can read her blog if you click on the "Pray for Lucy" picture on the sidebar of my blog. All that being said---I was praying for them the other day and for some reason your name kept coming to mind. I was praying for God to send people to help this family and love on the other children in the absence of their mom. So just out of curiosity I researched where they lived and it was Covington, TN. I have no idea why I looked it up to see if it was close to you, but I checked a Google map and saw it was relatively close. I wasn't sure of the mileage or time distance between the two. Anyway, I'm not telling you to bust up at their door nor am I volunteering you for anything! LOL. I just thought that if it was that close that you or Brian may know this family. Even if you don't, hop on over to their blog and be praying for this adorable little girl.
And---If I ever do get up your way, you can bet I'll be stopping by to visit :) I'd love to see you sometime when you are back in AL.
Oh, and sorry for all the rambling. :)
