Joy from Samford

I met up with one of my closest college friends last weekend in Jackson.
Joy is one of the sweetest people I know.  I actually thought if we had a girl, we may name her Joy because of this Joy.  Oh my goodness, she's just the greatest.  She has three girls ]{Ella, CeCe, and Eden} and she and her husband, David, live in Nashville.
It was so wonderful to spend the day with Joy.

So many pieces of scripture come to mind when I think of my friendships.

"Oil and perfume rejoice the heart; so does the sweetness of a friend's counsel that comes from the heart." Proverbs 27: 9

"As iron sharpens iron, so a man sharpens the countenance of his friend." Proverbs 27: 17(NKJV)

I am truely thankful for my friendships. As God has convicted and changed me, I feel those changes have been evident in my relationships.  I've never been surrounded my such wonderfully authentic friendships as I am now and that hasn't been without leaving some folks behind.  Sometimes we just need a little cleaning up in our friendships.
This verse comes to mind....

Do not be deceived: “Evil company corrupts good habits.” 1 Corinthians 15: 33(NKJV)

Is there anyone you need to let go of this Spring? Anyone corrupting your good habits?

Baby Edie's Baptism

Baby Edie was baptized last weekend.
Here she is with her sweet Mommy, Whitney.  Edie is just as beautiful as her mommy; I love this picture.  Don't you just wanna scoop Edie up?
They are just the most picture perfect little family.
They were surrounded by friends and family.
This picture below is of Whitney, her mother Kay and Baby Edie.  While I was taking this picture I got a tad choked up because it was just such a special day and tender moment.

After the baptism, Tommy and Whitney hosted everyone at the country club for lunch.  It was wonderful time.  They had everything so thoughtfully organized.
Thank goodness for the iTouch.  Thomas was really well-behaved.
He and Ava both loved watching Caillou.
Thomas and Henley.  I love this picture of Hen below.  She has the SWEETEST personality. I can't wait to see her grow up.
 Thomas likes her bunches too!

Such a wonderful day!

Katie's 30th Birthday

We celebrated Katie's birthday Saturday night with a surprise party.  It was her husbands idea.... but Leslie, Vicki and I got to work helping with some details.  She was totally surprised and it was so fun to see her reaction and to celebrate her.
Her yummy peacock cake.... We sent out peacock invitations... I'll post that later.
Leslie, Vicki and Baby McDonald decorating....
Leslie did several of these arrangements... very cute!
We just don't have a party these days without some embossed napkins.
