Thomas Had A Talk With Dr. Scott

Never say never; that's one thing I've certainly learned my lesson on. Never would my child take a paci and NEVER would he have it till he was THREE!! The SHAME!
For about a year now I have given Thomas the paci in private and in shame. I knew it wasn't the best thing for him but I also knew he loved them; he loves holding them, seeing them, knowing where they are. He would never have them out in public but none the less he still was a user.
Yesterday we turned a corner in his little life. He had a dental appointment with our friend Scott. Thomas really likes him. Tammy cleans T's teeth and he really likes her too. Tammy told me at his last appointment that we needed to drop the paci. I think that I had the best of intentions even then; but it never happened. Well, yesterday Scott took one look.... "WOW" were his exact words. He was talking about how the paci had made his teeth protrude. He told Thomas that he needs to put all of his paci's in Hollon's room. Scott looked at me and said, "it's passed time to get rid of those- his teeth will recover but it's going to take 6 months!"
So we are biting the bullet. Daddy's on board and Mommy's gonna stand her ground. No more paci's. Last night was our first night without them; yes, them- plural. He told me when we were getting ready for bed last night, "it's going to be hard to go to bed without my paci's". It took him a little longer to get asleep but he did it! He slept all night. And woke up this morning happy. He was so proud. Such a big boy.
Here are some pictures of his dental appointment.

And P.S. This makes me sad. I'm not ready to leave the baby ways behind us. Ready or not.....
