Shameless Bathtime Pictures

I've been practicing my photo skills using manual mode without a flash. These were taken in dim light, but I wish I knew why they are so strong yellow.  Anyone got any suggestions?   
I tried to fix the exposure in the first two and just gave up because it was just too strong and pictures started looking blown out.




Yet this I call to mind
and therefore I have hope:
Because of the LORD’s great love we are not consumed,
for his compassions never fail.

  2. Kasey, check your white balance setting on your camera. If you are shooting all manual, then there is no telling what your white balance is set on unless you've changed it yourself. I shoot Canon so I'm not sure how your Nikon is set up so check in your manual for how to change it. You will set you white balance according to whatever light source you have in the area you are shooting (example- flourescent, sunlight, cloudy, etc.) That will help you make the photos more/less warm/cool. Hope it helps :). Btw- don't feel bad about using b/w as a "cop-out". I've done it too---and so have MANY others. And the b/w is precious.

  3. i'm with heather...also, try shooting in aV mode and turn up your ISO a little....but play with the WB some....also, another trick i just learned (not relevant to these pics) is when shooting outside in the blaring sun, set your WB to shade...it warms up the pics and gets rid of some of that blaring sun...hope that helps....i just bought a groupon for a one day photog class, i am super excited!!
