Something About Being Thankful

Good Morning Friends, as I'm typing this my baby boy is at Mother's Day Out.  This is only his second time being back since late summer (because we had Kindermusik).  Last week I was under the weather so I wasn't good about keeping the blog updated.

"So then, just as you recieved Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in Him, rooted and built up in Him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness."  COLOSSIANS 2:6-7

In bible study this week we are studying this verse.
So I'm thinking about being thankful.  Giving Thanks; Being Thankful.

But it is so terribly easy to compare (one of the devil's most favorite tools); and feel like we don't measure up.  I am certaintly guilty of this.  Doesn't it rob us of our precious joyful moments?  If we are focused on what we have and being thankful for it and NOT what we don't.... I'm certain that we will find peace and contentment.

AND God's desire is for us to be in a place of contentment; so that we may focus our hearts on His heart.

A friend of ours -who you will be hearing more about over the next few weeks- shared a sermon a few weeks ago where he mentioned "user reviews" or "user rating".... You know where someone rates a product that they bought; we usually see this online.  He asked the question that if someone was to look at us for a review on "Life with Jesus" what would our review be. Would it be that we are filled with anxiety? That we struggle to find satisfaction in life? That we want more from life?  OR would our review be that God's grace sustains us, his Holy Spirit fills our every second with overflowing thankfulness at the work of His hand? Would it be that the joy of the Lord is our strength?

My prayer is that as we experience His great big world, that we look with thankfulness, happiness, and contentment.
You wanna know what I'm thankful for?
Oh goodness, Thomas is going to KILL me for this picture one day.  But can I just tell y'all that this boy cracks me up.  He is repeating EVERYTHING we say, EVERYTHING.  He is SO fun.  And everyday I wake up so incredibly thankful (leaving me with a feeling of humbleness) that I'm his mommy and that I get to spend my days with him and soak up every bit of his childhood.
What are you thankful for today?  How has our Heavenly Father blessed you?
