As I walked around the stores laughing at all your funny faces and sounds, I saw things were being put out for Fall and one store already had things out for Christmas (in July?) I felt so incredibly thankful and humbled. We have so much to look forward to! Your first Christmas and your first time in a pumpkin patch! Your precious life is such a gift to your dad and me.
Alright, sorry for being so sentimental... on to the facts....
At 5 months you are:
-rolling over like a pro! The first time you flipped from back to front was on July the 5th. You were staying with your Mammaw and Pappaw while your dad and I went to see Wicked at the Orpheum. She called us and was so excited for you! She had laid a pallet out for you in their living room. Your Mammaw says you worked and were grunting for what seemed like 20 minutes. Ever since then there has been no stopping you. We lay you on your back... and you flip over!
-enjoying every last bite of rice cereal! At first you were a little confused about the taste and the whole spoon thing. But it sure didn't take long for you to figure it out.
-HEAVY! At your four month doctor's appointment you weighed 15lb 10 oz. We weighed you today on our home scales and you weigh around 17lbs 12oz. Our big boy!
-almost back to sleeping through the night. At around 2.5 months you started sleeping through the night consistently. We would put you to bed at 10, and sleep until 5:30. That was your schedule until we went on vacation. You slept fine in Florida and then we got home. You started waking up 2, sometimes 3 times during the night. But those days seem to be over. Now you are going to bed around 8:30 and sleeping until 6. Your dad and I are very pleased!
-completely captivated by your feet! You have a grip on those things throughout most of the day!
-so cuddly! And I really love it! You love being held close. Sometimes in the mornings I'll put you in the bed with me and we just snuggle. I know these days will be gone before I know it, so I just breath it in, and relish every second.

Kasey- good for you for taking in every moment and treasuring it! Those days will be gone in a blink of an eye and you will wonder where that baby went. Thomas is just precious! No wonder you are totally in love with this boy.
ReplyDeleteAnd to answer your question, yes my dad and your dad do look much more alike than ever. I went back and looked at the picture you referred to. It was shocking! :)
He is precious!!! I am glad you are blogging again. It makes me happy and feel like I can at least get to know him a little bit!!
ReplyDeletehe is so cute! i cant believe how big he's getting! i saw your comment on my blog about sign language. i wrote a response there, but wanted to get it to you here too...

we started at about 6 months with "more" for when i'd give her cheerios. here's the blog post i wrote on it (http://thewamsteds.blogspot.com/2008/12/moooooooooooore.html) then we did all done, food, drink, and please. i used this website (http://babystrology.com/baby-learning/baby-sign-language/) for more, all done, help, and please. (i love the little baby on it!) then i got the first two baby signing time dvds (http://www.babysigningtime.com ...but i got them off www.half.com for much, much cheaper!) that's where she's learned things like milk, bird, book, water, wash hands, brush teeth, etc. the biggest thing is to be flexible with HOW they sign. Addie clapped her hands/palms for "more" for the longest time. only recently did she start "putting her finger tips together for more, more, more" (that's from baby signing time! those songs get stuck in your head quickly!) she also shakes her arm/hand almost like she's waving for "please" instead of the traditional way of rubbing her chest. BUT...the whole point is that she's communicating with us!!! it started really slow, but after she turned a year old, it really picked up. sometimes, she immediately just says the word and i dont worry about the sign, but other times, the sign sticks and it's great! i hope this helps some :) good luck! let me know if you have any questions about it!!!
